Feb. 26th 1967 - Feb. 25th 2025
Victor was born to Patricia Ann Reppeto and James Edward Reppeto at Burlington Washington Hospital. He was the youngest of their five children, residing in Sedro-Woolley, Washington. His father passed away the following December.
His mother remarried and became pregnant with Patrick Charles perry, Victors best friend and brother, making for six children! Tommy (as his brothers and sisters called him) moved to Salem, Oregon to be near his mothers family. The following year her marriage was dissolved. Needless to say life was challenging with six children to raise.
Patricia's indomitable and resourceful spirit was passed on to her children -- especially Tommy. As a child he believed in himself and was always taking things apart, but unable to put them back together. In time he improved from the experience and was able to reassemble many things.
Victor got his GED and used his skills do book-keeping in varying capacities until he transitioned into computer technology, and worked in Portland for some time as a support technician when Microsoft was a thing people were not familiar with. By then he could also work on computers and assemble most things in need of attention. This skill came in very handy when he found and married Elizabeth June Brown in Portland Oregon, March 8th , 1997. Together they purchased their home and some rental properties which they managed in Salem, Oregon. There they had three children: Gabriel Agustus Reppeto, July 19th , 1999 ; Mason Patrick Reppeto, December 1st , 2000 ; and Melanie Lorraine Reppeto, October 1st 2002. Melanie was born developmentally challenged, requiring much physical and medical care.
Difficulties were many as they continued to manage their rentals and work outside the home. Unfortunately their marriage suffered and was dissolved in 2014. Despite these challenges, Elizabeth remained dedicated to their children while Victor, unraveling, struggled with mental health and alcohol abuse. Living alone was difficult for him and he found joy and comfort and solace in kayaking, a sport he has enjoyed with his family while married. He was also active riding his bicycle and repairing anything he could make use of in daily life.
Victor, always passionate, attended AA meetings regularly while seeking further counseling opportunities. His best friend, brother and confidant Patrick joined him at regular AA Meetings as well.
Victors love of knowledge and tendency for debate kept him passionate on social justice issues. Debating was not always helpful to him, but he was always stimulated and pressed for more, never hesitating to put his thoughts and words into writing letters of comment on various arguable matters. He saw much injustice in the world.
He wanted to see improvements in handling the disabled, homeless, addicted and underrepresented -- particularly himself. But as 58 years old and missing a leg he was wearing out. He was tired and would like to see us all continue his fight.
Notwithstanding personal challenges, broken dreams and needed intervention --- We love you Victor! RIP Tommy. We will love you for the rest of our days...
