The family moved to Springfield, Oregon in the late 1950's. Dave continued his life-long employment with the Southern Pacific railroad. Vera went to work for the Springfield School District as a cook. In 1969 Dave, Vera and Nancy moved to Tillamook, Oregon. Dave died in 1973 and Vera moved to Bay City, Oregon. When Vera's daughters moved to the Willamette Valley, she relocated to Salem, Oregon. Vera worked in various jobs but her primary job was being a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother.
