Timothy Gordon Dickerson

September 25, 1942 — December 14, 2020

Tim Dickerson, 78, died December 14, 2020 with members of his family and a dear friend by his side.

Tim was born in Vancouver, Washington on Septemer 25, 1942 and lived in Washougal, Washington until he was 10 years old. In 1952 his family moved to Corvallis, Oregon where Tim attended local schools. At Corvallis High School, Tim enjoyed playing on the football and basketball teams. After graduation Tim married Lola Conklin and had two sons, Dustin and Byron. At age 18 he began a small upholstery business in Corvallis and remained in that industry until he retired from his business in 2015. Early on Tim restored automobile upholstery as well as boat tops. He won awards for his workmanship. In later years he owned Heritage Furniture and Upholstery. He loved building fine furniture he took great pride in his beautiful showroom full of his creations. Tim had an unquenchable appetite for books. He read and reread many of his favorites and at the time of his death we are guessing he had about 2,000 books in his possession – beautiful books which he loved to give as gifts to family and friends. His favorite genre was the Wild West, Science Fiction and the Classics.

Tim was a quiet, thoughtful person but he had a quick wit and enjoyed humorous banter with friends and colleagues. He was a fighter and though plagued by poor health the last five years of his life, he worked hard to overcome each and every illness never giving up the hope of regaining strength and healing.

Tim is survived by his sons, Dustan Dickerson, residing in Dutch Harbor, Alaska and Byron Dickeron in Phoenix, Arizona. Also surviving are his sisters and brothers, Terry Sande, Dixie King, Bob Dickerson, Nick Olheiser, David Olheiser and Mary Hillyer; as well as several nieces
and nephews.

He will be greatly missed.
