Stanley Edward Jones (Stan) was the third child born to Reginald and Doris Jones in Santa Ana,
California on September 6, 1937. He attended school in the Inglewood, California area and
graduated from Inglewood High School in 1956. He worked in the aerospace industry all of his
life as an experimental machinist. While working for North American Rockwell, Hughes and
TRW, Stan’s efforts contributed to many of the well-known space projects including Gemini,
Apollo and Skylab.
As an 8-year old, Stan accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and lived his life as a Christian. Stan
and his wife Sandy attended First Church of the Nazarene where they were active in the Open
Heart Sunday School class. S
Stan and Sandy were married for 59 years and lived in Salem, Oregon since more than 40 years.
Stan is survived by his wife, son Scott, daughter Susan, two granddaughters McKenna and
Marissa and a grandson, Stephen Edward.
Stan served his country as a member of the National Guard and his local area as a Marion
County Sheriff’s Deputy for several years. He enjoyed living in Oregon and the long summer
days.
Stan and Sandy traveled together with visits to Alaska, Hawaii, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand
and Canada.
Stan was a creative person who knew how to fix things and solve problems. His legacy lives on
with his wife, children and grandchildren who will all miss him greatly.
