Scott Carr

August 2, 1964 — February 28, 2018

Visitation for Michael Scott Carr will be on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at the Keizer Funeral Chapel.

SALEM - Scott Carr died very suddenly of heart failure, complicated by other illness on February 28, 2018 in Salem, Oregon. Scott was born in Salem, and attended public schools in Salem and Keizer. He was a very active and precocious youngster who stretched his loving mother’s patience on occasion.
For over the past 30 years, Scott worked daily with his brother, Richard Doneth, in Richard’s Landscaping Company. He was always a hard worker and mechanically talented. They maintained the landscaping on commercial buildings and homes in the Salem, Keizer, and Monmouth areas. Due to the tremendous time spent together, Richard and Scott were especially close as brothers and friends.
Scott had many loyal neighbors and friends who remained close to him for decades. He really enjoyed his home, especially playing pool, darts, and listening to music in his downstairs man-cave. He enjoyed going to the Oregon beach, rafting on both rivers and lakes in the Willamette Valley. He was a collector of many things; his agate and shot glass collections some would say were second to none.
A very special person and the love of his life, Jill Holmason, his girlfriend of 6 years, was very loyal, caring and extremely good for Scott, and remained close to Scott until his death. She will be forever appreciated by Scott’s family.
Scott was predeceased by his mother, Sue Ann (Leisi) Doneth, who passed away in 1996. Also, his grandparents, Bob and Bonnie Leisi of Condon; Mary and Richard Eastman of Salem; and John and Virginia Doneth of East Lansing, Michigan.
Scott is survived by a large and loving family, including his father, Gean Carr, of Salem. His stepfather is John Doneth of Keizer. His four brothers are Robert Doneth of Salem, Richard (Marilou) Doneth of Salem, Jason (Jessie) Doneth of Salem, and Justin (Lydia) Doneth of Salem. His niece and nephews include Tristina, Everett, Drew, Callen, Haydn, and Adler. Scott was loved by his aunt, Jo Ann Barnett, of Condon, and his aunts and uncles, Jaimie, Dan, Peter, Mary, and Debbie from the Midwest.
Family would like to invite friends and neighbors to a public viewing from 5-8pm on Friday, March 9th at Keizer Funeral Chapel, 4365 River Road N. in Keizer. There will be a private family gravesite gathering at a later date. Scott will be interred with his mother, Sue, at City View Cemetery.
All friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life at Keizer Quality Inn Suites from 5-8 pm on Friday, March 23rd. The address is 5188 Wittenberg Lane NE in Keizer. Please bring pictures, good memories and stories of Scott.
In lieu of flowers, any donations people wish to make will be well used by the Boys and Girls Club of Salem, 1395 Summer St. NE; Salem, OR 97301.
Scott lived a very active, full, and sometimes challenging life. He will be missed forever by his family and many friends.
