Sara Jane "Galbraith" Mitchell

Sara Jane Galbraith was born in Philadelphia, PA. Her mother died when Sara was six and she and her brother, Jim, were raised by their aunt Elsie. Sara/Sara Jane/SJ/ Sally attended Germantown Friends (Quaker) School from kindergarten through graduation in 1952. Her classmates still are a close-knit group and they recently had their 60th class reunion in Philadelphia.
After high school Sally attended Hood College in Frederick, MD where she graduated in 1956. Onward to teaching grades K-6 in the Boston, MA area, suburban Philadelphia, Cranford, NJ, Portland, OR and finally in Salem where she retired in 1993.
Sara and her husband, Bob, were married in Bucks County, PA in 1964. Son, John, and daughter, Meg, were born in Portland. The family moved to Salem in 1972.
Sara is survived by her husband, son, daughter, and a brother who lives in Plano, TX.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Caruso's Restaurant, 5745 Inland Shores Way, North (on Staats Lake), Keizer, OR on Saturday, June 2, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.
