Ruth Hansen, age 94, passed away July 20, 2020 at her memory care home in Salem, Oregon. She had been looking forward to the peace of leaving this world and spoke longingly of heaven. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Glen in 2007 and youngest daughter, Marlene (Liz) in 2020. She is survived by two children, Katherine (Roger) Davis and Chris (Janice) Hansen. She was born in Pomfret Vermont, where she was one of seven siblings, all with names beginning with the letter R. Ruth moved to California as a young woman, where she met Glen. They spent many years of their lives in Southern Oregon, and then moved to the Salem/Keizer area of Oregon. Ruth loved the coast, beautiful scenery, flowers and almost anything blue. She had farm animals as a child and young mother, family dogs, and eventually even became fond of cats. Ruth was greatly loved and admired by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews who have had the joy of knowing her. Her two remaining siblings, Romona Pecor and Ronald West were always on her heart. Special thanks to Four Seasons Memory Care. Most of her time there was during the coronavirus quarantine where her care givers did their very best to substitute for friends and family. Ruth’s celebration of life will be a small family gathering. Burial will be at Woodville Cemetery in Rogue River, Oregon.
