Romona Joy Carr, a long time resident of the Centralia area, was granted her angel wings at the age of 79 on October 28th 2013. Her final days were spent surrounded by family, at her home where she recently moved to in Mt Angel, Oregon.
Born January 21, 1934 in Mary, Nebraska to Robert & Nora Mae Blumenthal, She was the last of 5 children. They moved to the Centralia area when Romona was 2. She graduated from Centralia and went on to junior college. She married William Carr at age 20 and they had 3 children. She worked at Yard Birds for many years and eventually retired from there. She is survived by her sister Ethel Jenkins in Bothell, WA; her eldest son William "Billy" Carr (Susan) from Portland, Or; her son Robert "Robbie" Carr (Michelle) from Kent, WA; her only daughter, Rhona Lee Carr from Napavine, WA; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces. She was preceeded in death by her father, mother, sister, and two brothers. A Memorial Service will held for her on Saturday, November 16th at 11 am at the First Christian church, 1215 W. Main St, Centralia, WA 98531. There will be a potluck to follow. Please come and celebrate her life with us.
