Richard James Manning, 71 of Keizer died January 5 after a courageous battle with cancer. Richard was born June 10, 1945 in Woodburn, Oregon to Raymond and Helen (Seymour) Manning. He graduated from Woodburn High School in 1963 and proudly served his country during the Vietnam Era in the US Air Force on a B-52 base and then in Korea. He married Andrea E. Manning in 1969. They made their home in Keizer, Oregon, where Richard worked as an independent real-estate appraiser.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Helen, and his brother, Robert.
Richard is survived by Andrea, his wife of 47 years; his son Rockford; his daughter Laura and her husband Jonathon Bernard; and his grandchildren, Adelina and Gabriel.
Keizer Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. A celebration of life will be held on 11:00 a.m. January 19 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church at 1010 Columbia St NE in Salem with a reception following.
A private burial will occur at a later date at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Willamette Valley Hospice, 1015 3rd St NW, Salem OR 97304, or the American Cancer Society.
