Let us Pray:Be with us this day Lord as we gather to reflect on our calling to be ministers of comfort and support for one another.Fill us with hope in your power to heal and to save.Look kindly on those of us who mourn at this time and all those we lift up to you in remembrance.Give us peace today and always. We ask this in the Spirit, through Christ, our Lord. Amen.Thank you all for coming today to remember the special life of our loved one Regina. Death is seen as a terrible thing that we don't understand. We are sad, hurt and may even feel anger over the loss of Regina but we are gathered together to support one another and to remember our love for Regina.  In life and in death our hope is in God and in the saving work of Jesus his Son.Prayer:The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul:He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,I will fear no evil:For thou art with me;Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:Thou anointest my head with oil;My cup runneth over.Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:And I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.Song:Who was Regina - simply put she was a daughter, she was a sister, a wife, a mother and a grandmother. I will forever remember her warmth and love of her family.Regina was a great artist; she was offered a scholarship to art school but she chose to raise a family and never looked back on the what if's. She enjoyed being a mother and later in life proud to be a grandmother. Life threw her a few curve balls but she always found a way to bounce back. She did her best for her children that she knew how at the time and didn't complain about her mishaps in life.Regina worked various jobs throughout her working life but working in Alaska on the crab boats was by far her favorite in spite of getting a shell fish allergy. Regina enjoyed art, crocheting and going to play bingo.Regina's favorite holiday was Thanksgiving although most people thought it was Halloween because her birthday was on Halloween. We (her siblings) use to tease her about that and as she got older she use to make jokes about riding her broom and being the witch of the family. She liked receiving halloween gifts. As a young girl we would go trick or treating and everyone it was her birthday and she always came home with more candy than all of us. Song:ECCLESIASTES 3 readsThere is a time for everything,And a season for every activity under the heavens.A time to be born, and a time to die.A time to weep, and a time to laugh.A time to mourn, and a time to dance.Regina was a fighter, never gave up when she was diagnosed with her disease. She fought the fight but the battle took her away from us too soon. She definately set an example to never give up. .II TIMOTHY 2 reads:This saying is trustworthyIf we have died with him, we shall also live with him.If we persever, we shall also reign with him. There is no doubt Regina is living with HIM, while reading passages out of her bible to her there was a piece of paper sticking out. Regina had written her bible studies down and started a book/journal on her faith, what her faith meant and how to live for HIM. She had also written her favorite verses/prayers down and what she needed to study to understand God's word. She is safely through heavens gate.John 11:25,26 reads:I am the resurrection and the life, saith the Lord; he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live; and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. John Ellerton wrote:Now the laborers task is O'er, Now the battle day is past. Now upon the farther shore, lands the voyage at last.Father in thy gracious keeping, leave we now thy servant sleepingEarth to Earth, dust to dustCalmly now the words we say, left in behind we wait in trust for the ressurection dayFather in thy gracious keepingleave we now thy servant keepingSong:A loved one is a treasure of the heart and losing a loved one is like losing a piece of yourself, but the love that Regina brought all of us did not leave, for the essence of the soul lingers.  It cannot escape our heart, for it will be there forever. Cling to the memories we have and let them find their way to heal us. The love and laughter, the joy in the togetherness we shared, will make us strong. You come to realise that your time together, no matter how long, was meant to be and we are blessed to have such a precious gift of love in our life. Keep your heart beating with the loving memories and trust in your faith to guide you through. Know that though life moves on the beauty of love stays behind to embrace us. Regina has left us that to hold in our heart forever.Let us Pray:God of love and mercy,By the mystery of the cross, you have made us strong;By the sacrament of the resurrectionyou have sealed us as your own.Look kindly on all those we remember todayAnd count them among your saints in heaven. We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
