Perry M DeLapp, son of Matthew J. and Bertha DeLapp, was the fifth of seven children. He was born and raised 3 miles west of Salem in Eola. He was a farmer, except for three years in the Navy Air Force. He spent his entire life on a farm. Although flying hundreds of times as an ordinance man in a bomber, once on the ground he never flew in a plane again. His love of animals was demonstrated by owning three dairies. The first two were with his father and brother and then for the next 55 years he owned Perry’s Dairy on Howell Prairie. He married Ivalou Stahlnecker with her two children and they added two more: Perry Jr, and Tammy. Having his son grow up and join him on the dairy farm completed his dream and aided him in his success and happiness.Perry passed away on September 27th at the age of 94, with his daughter’s care, where he wanted to be, on a farm, appropriately named, on Sunnyview Avenue. He always had a joke to tell, whether it was on the farm or elk hunting with his horse. He is survived by his son Perry, daughter Tammy DeLapp; his two step children Daniel Stahlnecker and Diane Larson; and his brother Dave; along with many nieces and nephews, plus grandchildren and great grandchildren. Please leave your condolences and share your memories of Perry for the family to cherish in their time of grief.
