Pauline "Pat" Perkins passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, August 31, at the age of 83.
She was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan. After some time in Florida, she and her parents moved to Salem. OR. She married her "Perk" in 1951. They had four children.
Pat loved gardening; watching plants grow and flowers bloom. She received a Master Gardener certificate in the 80's. She especially took pride in her exotic, tropical plants that she nurtured in her greenhouse. Pat donated an exotic Night Blooming Cereus to the Deepwood Arboretum because it was a variety they didn't have.
After 25 years, Pat retired from North Salem Fred Meyer where she was employed since it's opening. While there, she became interested in photography and took photography classes.
Pat loved visiting and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always had activities on hand for them when they came to visit.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Warren "Perk" Perkins, her two sons, Michael and Anthony "Tony", and grandson Jesse Toney.
Pat is survived by her daughers, Dianne Russell, Salem, Oregon and Brenda Patterson, (Bill) Klamath Falls, Oregon as well as eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A service will be held September 17, 11:00 am at Keizer Chapel, 4365 River Rd N, Keizer, OR.
