Maxine Opal (Potter) Wolf passed away on September 5, 2014, having suffered a stroke. Maxine was born in Logan, Iowa on March 11, 1926 to proud parents of Ira and Opal Potter. She was raised up in Iowa along with her one brother and two sisters. On April 15, 1944 she married Jack Leroy Wolf Sr. and they eventually moved to Oregon where they proudly raised up their two sons; Bryan and Jack Jr. Maxine spent the majority of her life being a wonderful homemaker for her family; however from 1958 to 1962 she did work at the state hospital in Salem, OR. Maxine will always be remembered for being a very loving and loyal wife, beloved mother and grandmother and great grandmother and loving sister, aunt, and friend. Maxine was truly gifted with many talents! She could sing any song like a nightgale; she could make nay landscape beautiful with her 'green thumb'; the outdoor pictures she painted are invaluable to those who are blessed to own one of her 'Max' originals; and she could charm and grace anyone with her perfectly color matching outfits which always included her hat, purse, and shoes! Maxine was a master cook in her kitchen. Her family loved all her home cooking...especially her wonderful casseroles and baked beans! She loved to bake for people because hospitality was definitely one of her greatest gifts. She could make any stranger feel like family within minutes! Her home was truly her castle and she made everyone feel loved and accepted. One of her favorite past-times was going thrift store shopping or checking out garage sales. She loved the adventure of finding that one great treasure she just needed to have in her home and at such an unbelievable price! Maxine was a 'hands-on' of person. She was always there for a hug, a smile, a laugh, a joke, a story, a prayer, a meal, and an ever listening ear to hear whatever you had to say. She made everyone feel important, and she always happy... always wearing her beautiful smile and putting her best foot forward with each new day. Her faith in God never wavered. Her husband Jack passed away last in July, and her youngest son, Jack Jr. passed away two years ago. She was married to Jack Sr. for 69 plus years...their reunion must be wonderful in Heaven! Deceased are her husband, Jack Wolf Sr. and her youngest son, Jack Wolf Jr. Maxine is survived by her oldest son, Bryan Wolf of Lyons, OR; former daughter-in-law, Elaine Hoff and her husband, Dennis Hoff of Hillsboro OR; granddaughter, Cory Wolf Kirkpatrick and her husband, Frank Kirkpatrick of Vancouver, WA; grandson, Chris Wolf of Vancouver, WA; granddaughter, Cristi (Wolf) Patershall and her husband, Scott Patershall of Aloha, OR; granddaughter, Sheri (Wolf) Wilson and her husband, Frank Wilson of Battle Ground, WA; and four wonderful great grandchildren, Hailey and Nathan Patershall and Alyssa and Cameron Wilson.
