Marlene Ann Chapman (Podrabski)

July 26, 1938 — December 29, 2012

Marlene was born in Longview, WA to Carl and Aurelia (Kintz) Podrabski. After graduation from Saint Boniface in Sublimity, OR in 1956, Marlene went on to work at Bergs Grocery Store and LaTricia's Deli before becoming a homemaker for her family. She married Ernest (Les) Chapman on April 19, 1958 at the Saint Boniface Church in Sublimity.
For Marlene, volunteering was a passion. She volunteered at the Marion County Health Department for 20 years, she was part of the Keizer Fire Bells, and a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters.
Preceding her in death are her parents Carl and Aurelia. Marlene is survived by her husband of 54 years, Les Chapman, Daughers; Trish Crenshaw and Gayle (Roger) Smith, grandchildren; Branden and Kendra Smith and Skyler Crenshaw, sister Diane (John) Welter of Sublimity, and many nieces and nephews.
Marlene will always be remembered by her amazing ability to cook, her friendliness and outgoingness, the neighborhood parties, and her love for her family. She never knew a stranger, she loved making new friends and visiting with the old friends. Marlene loved going up the Santiam Canyon to see the leaves change colors in the fall, and going on short trips to the beach, over the mountain or anywhere else her heart desired, weekend crabbing trips with the family, and hunting in Eastern Oregon. Marlene was very giving, she had always said that if she were to win the lottery she would share all of her winnings.
A memorial mass will be held at Saint Edward Catholic Church in Keizer on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 1:30pm.
Arrangements entrusted to Keizer Funeral Chapel.
