Lee A. Gallino

August 2, 1931 — November 16, 2018

Lee was born on Aug 2, 1931 in Stayton OR to Walter and Estelle (Tryon) Gallino.  As a young child, the family moved to the Oregon coast to Hebo OR. Where he went to school and met the love of his life Juanita Cross. He graduated in 1949 from Nestucca Union High school and was an all-league basketball player.

Lee worked at the Hebo cheese factory for the Tillamook County Creamery Association; where he worked his way up to head cheesemaker.  He then went to work for the Tillamook School dist. and retired as head of the maintenance department.  After his retirement Lee and Juanita moved to Keizer, OR where they spent their remaining days enjoying being with their family.

Lee passed away in his home in Keizer OR on November 16 2018, surrounded by family.

Lee was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita and his 7 siblings. He is survived by his two sons: Dean Gallino (wife Debra) of Bend, OR, Joe Gallino (wife Linda) of Warrenton, OR, 6 Granddaughters, 15 Great grandchildren, and 3 great greatgrandchildren.

Lee loved to fish and hunt. He taught this love to his sons, granddaughters, and great grandchildren. Lee spent as much time as he could with his sons.  He loved telling stories about his favorite fishing holes and the things that he did as a child growing up in rural Oregon.

At his request there will be no “funeral” service.  A private gathering of the family will celebrate his life later next year. We wish to thank the Willamette Valley Hospice for their compassion and care. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that you make a donation to your local hospice or wvh.org.
