Karen S. Strean

KEIZER -Karen Strean passed away February 20, 2012. She was born in Mena, Arkansas on April 27, 1950. She moved with her family to Eugene, Oregon two years later. She graduated from Springfield high school in 1968. Karen attended Lane Community College for two years. She moved to Salem in 1970 and worked at several jobs including Montgomery Wards, PGE, and The Employment Office. She married Dave Strean November 30, 1979. They were married 31 years. They raised one daughter. Karen enjoyed scrap booking, reading, watching movies, and spending time with her grandchildren. What we will always remember about Karen was her generous spirit towards others in need. She is survived by her husband David Strean, daughter Rachel of Pasco, Washington, brother Ken of Eugene, and two grandchildren David and Audrey. Celebration of Life will be held at Christian Center of Salem on February 24, 2012 at 2pm. Contribution: Union Gospel Mission.
