Julia E. Centeno was born in 1935 in El Salvador. She was married to Jose Centeno since 1952 to his death in 1991. Julia and Jose had 4 sons and 1 daughter; two of the sons live in Woodburn, the other two live in Los Angeles and her daughter lives in Las Vegas.Julia came to the States in 1986 and lived in Los Angeles for 5 years, after that she moved to Oregon where she lived for 29 years until her passing on Friday September 11, 2020.Julia was an exceptional person, very caring and very loving. She was specially loving toward her grandkids. She loved telling jokes and to joke around with people, her personality was that of a very positive being. Throughout the years Julia showed that she was a fighter in life, a wonderful and powerful woman of faith in Jesus Christ. She was quick to make new friends and whoever came to know her immediately came to love her.Julia’s favorite thing to do was to listen to Christian songs and to read the Bible. Her pastimes included scratching lottery tickets and playing angry birds game on her tablet. She very much liked going to the casino to play slot machines. When people came to visit her she never let people leave without offering them something to eat. Julia was the sweetest person anyone could ever meet and she always had a smile even during difficult times or during sickness. We, her family, will never forget Julia Centeno for she will always live in our hearts and in our minds. As a Christian woman who truly loved Jesus, she now is in God’s presence and is awaiting for her family to come join her when the appropriate time comes. We love you, Mom, or as everyone else called you, “Abuelita.” You did not die, you just passed to be in the presence of the Lord and one day we will see you again. In loving memory of who will always be with us, Julia Centeno.
