Jackie Godfrey, 81 of Salem, passed away May 17 with family by her side. Jackie was born in Fort Wayne Indiana on November 5th, 1932 to George and Ruby Fox. Jackie was raised in Indiana on a farm and enjoyed the simple life of living on a farm and loved walking through the tall corn fields with her dad. She attended elementary and Junior High school in Indiana. The family later moved to California where she graduated High School in Berkeley. She moved to Keizer in 1957. She enjoyed playing bunko and canasta. She belonged to both groups for over 40 years and continued to play until her death. She enjoyed cooking for her family and attending her boys sports events and was often thought of as a cross between Betty Crocker and Doris Day. She also enjoyed annual family vacations to visit her mom's farm and California. Later in life she met Lee Greenlee who she spent the next 25 years with enjoying traveling together, camping. The also enjoyed trips to Hawaii and many many road trips throughout the Pacific Northwest until Lee's passing in January 2010. Jackie is survived by her three sons Mike, Dan and Dave all of Salem. Her 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service is planned for Friday, May 23, at 1:00 pm at Keizer Funeral Chapel. Please share your memories at
