Tallabas of Beaverton, OR; his Brother Troy D. Axelson; Nephew Andrew A. Axelson; and Cousin Jeff Robertson, all of Salem. Jack graduated from Sprague HS in 1982, and enlisted in the Navy from 1983-1988. Jack had a strong loyalty to his country and loved to fly his American flag.
One of Jack's jobs after the Navy was working in a Machine Shop where he learned fabrication and welding, which helped Jack with his passion of buying cars, motorcycles and anything else he could get a hold of that had a motor on it. Jack loved to fix them up and make them look better then new so he could resell them. Jack worked for Wheels Bus Company for a few years, and he would talk about visiting with the Senior Citizens on the bus. Jack cared about them a lot and they appreciated his kindness.
Jack loved his family and his dog Nicky which he had for 13 years. Jack deeply respected his family and considered them his best friends. Jack would tell you what a wonderful and happy childhood he had and how he enjoyed working with his father on old cars and going to classic car shows with him.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Jacks name to the Marion County Humane Society.
