Esther Viola Martens Bese Allison

Esther Viola Martens Bese Allison was born on October 28, 1913 in Herbert, Saskatchewan, Canada to Henry J and Katherina Dyck Martens. They moved to Dallas, Oregon in 1920. She married Ben Bese on July 16, 1930. He died in December of 1965. They had 3 boys, Bob, Jim and Phil. She married Lance Allison September 25, 1967. He died in January of 1999. She lived in Keizer since 1966. She lost her sight at age 90. After losing her sight, she lived at River Road Assisted Living, Avamere Assisted living and most recently the Sweet Bye-N-Bye Foster Care Home in Keizer. She was preceded in death by her brother Rueben, her sister Mary, and 2 of her 3 sons, Bob and Jim. She is survived by her brother Ben of California, her youngest son Phil and his wife Sharon of Dallas, and 2 step-sons, Gregg and Rodney and their families. She has many grand, great, and great-great grandchildren along with nieces and nephews. She loved all of her family. She and her husband Lance were very active in the Church of the Nazarene and they went to many countries to do mission work there. They traveled frequently and saw a lot of the world, not only as missionary workers but for pleasure as well. Her faith kept her strong for her whole life and she enjoyed her family, gardening, traveling, sewing and cooking. She died the afternoon before her 100th birthday. A Graveside Service will be Wednesday, October 30 at 1:00 pm at the Salt Creek Cemetery in Dallas. Arrangements entrusted to Keizer Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services.
