Elizabeth Louise Cavota Fry (Betty) was 72 on Saturday, November 24, 2012, when she died at OHSU Kohler Pavillion of cancer. She was born July 26, 1940 in Nome, Alaska to Theodore Frederick Cavota and Theresa Marie Luke. She was the oldest of four children including: Rose (deceased), Germano and Theodore. Elizabeth grew up in Nome and enjoyed all of the natural beauty of the region - camping, picking berries, and eating local delicacies. For her high school years, she attended St. Mary's Academy in Toledo, Washington, where she was lovingly remembered by fellow classmates. After graduation in 1959, she attended one year at Seattle University, then went back to Nome where she met her husband, Wayne Albright, the father of her three daughters, Michelle (Elie) Saad, Wendy (Ignacio) Santana, and Sheri Ramey Jones. She is survived by her three daughters, 10 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. She worked briefly in banking and later for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, but she spent most of her life caring for children or disabled. She lived in Portland the last 35 years of her life, the last 10 at Union Manor in West Moreland. Her greatest joy was visiting with family and friends, and she traveled often to Germany, Pittsburgh and San Diego to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for the love she poured into everyone she knew, as well as her strong faith in God and the many ways she made us all laugh. Services will be held on Friday, November 30th, at 10:30 at St. Edward's Catholic Church, 5303 River Road, N., Keizer, OR, followed by a luncheon at the church, and interment at Calvary Cemetery in Mt. Angel. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to OHSU Knight Cancer Institute Fund, OHSU Foundation, In memory of Elizabeth Fry, 1121 SW Salmon, Suite 100, Portland, OR 97205 or online at
