Dorothy Fish-Dungey

Dorothy Fish-Dungey, 91, passed away at home in Keizer due to the aftereffects of fungal pneumonia. Dorothy was born in Klamath Falls, OR, growing up on a dairy farm in the Smithfield/Perrydale community west of Salem. In 1944, she moved to Salem, where she remained the rest of her life.
In 1946, Dorothy married the late Bud Fish. In 1978, she moved from the country to town. In 1988, she married Ralph Dungey, who survives at home in Keizer.
Dorothy was a skilled homemaker and farm assistant and wise and kind mother. She was an avid reader and a lifelong learner, including explaining the mosaic of her books, trips, hikes and decades of history, especially the 1930's and 1940's.
She worked at Salem Sears 1964-1987, then in the Salem medical office of her late brother Dr. Richard Wright. Memberships included the Church of Nazarene, Chemeketa Hiking Club, and Salem Hospital Auxiliary.
Dorothy was a Red Cross blood donor and a volunteer at Salem Hospital gift shop, Meals on Wheels, Chemeketa Hiking Club, and Salem First Church of the Nazarene.
At age 90, in 2016, Dorothy and husband Ralph were honored as volunteers of the month at Salem First Church of the Nazarene.
She was predeceased by all her siblings, three older by adoption and three younger by birth.
In addition to husband Ralph, Dorothy is survived by her three children, Anita Lundy, Vancouver, WA. Greg Fish, Aumsville, OR; and Curt Fish, Stayton, OR; four granddaughters, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by daughter-in-law Kathy (Greg) Fish, Aumsville, OR; sister-in-law Sharon Wright, Salem, OR; three stepdaughters and their families, Julia Quintal, Salem, OR; Rhonda Shelton, Moro, OR; and Amy McVay, Briar, WA.
Public viewing is at Keizer Funeral Chapel, Wednesday November 1, 10am-3pm. Memorial service is private with Interment in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery, Portland OR.
