Donna Lee Flowers, 83, of Keizer, passed on Tuesday, September 3, 2013. She was born in Dawson County, Nebraska, on January 18, 1931 to Albert & Carrie (Carolyn) Cheney. She is preceded by her brother, Wayne Cheney, sisters Betty Jean Green & Lois Braasch, and most recently, daughter, Karon Anne Berry. She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 65 years, Wayne Flowers, daughters Terri Gillespie (Chris), and Ronda Keefe (Al), 8 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. Donna was Co-Broker of Wayne Flowers Realty, President of the Women's Council of Realtors and the Oregon Council of Realtors, and she also retired from the Department of Motor Vehicles following a career working for the State of Oregon. She loved to dance and socialize with family and close friends, and developed her public speaking skills through Toastmasters International, winning many humorous & speech contests. Donna was an accomplished oil painter, and enjoyed crocheting, photography, hunting, camping and fishing. She especially enjoyed going to the Oregon coast, and teaching her grandchildren and great grandchildren to play board games and cards. They all have fond memories of sneaking out of the house with their Grandma late at night for special treats. Donna had a special knack for involving and keeping her family close. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Willamette Valley Hospice, Tokarski House (non profit). A Memorial Service will be held at Keizer Funeral Chapel at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 14, 2013.
