Dennis Daniel Mendez passed away on December 3rd, 2018.
Dennis was born on November 28th, 1949 in Los Angeles California. Son to Phyllis Rayfuse and Daniel C. Mendez. Husband and best friend to Robin Mendez of 12 years, in which he gained many grandchildren and relatives who he cared for and loved very much.
He loved spending time with his grandchildren doing things like going to the park, taking them on outings, on walks etc. even if they weren’t biological he loved them as his very own.
Dennis moved to Oregon in the year of 1985 and started his lifetime journey of being an operator/owner long haul truck driver. He owned his own business for quite some time. He was a “work all day seven days a week without complaining” type of guy, made no excuses and lived a full life.
He had a knack for working on complicated jobs, taking on long road trips and enduring long nights. If it wasn’t on the road he was profoundly working on something at home.
One of the many talents he had was being able to fix and build just about anything. Never needing a mechanic, he was the mechanic. From houses, to cars and home renovations.
He had a giving heart and wouldn’t think twice about helping someone out. Always working hard for everything he had. He loved everything pristine and was some what of a perfectionist. One thing Dennis enjoyed along side his work was the combination of Coconut doughnuts and a cup of strong coffee. He wouldn’t go a day without a root beer or Mt. Dew to go along with a good old western and some home improvement shows. They were his go to. Dennis was a really genuine and heart felt man, he was stern and protective and you just felt safe with him around. He would like to be remembered for all the good that he was able to bring to anyone’s life.
He will forever be missed and is survived by his loving wife Robin; step son, Jake Lappin; sisters, Alicia Babouta, Darline Rodriguez, Marilyn Montano, Carmon Aurora, Gloria Mendez, Mary Lou Mendez and Evelyn Mendez; brothers, Daniel Ruben Mendez, Robert Mendez, Gregory Mendez and Edward Mendez; RoseAna Douglas; Also, his work friends and close family friends.
