Delbert “Del” Pixler, 88, of Keizer died Jan 20, 2023 due to complications of Alzheimer's. He was born in Burr Oak, KS; the only child of DC and Mabel Pixler.
Del grew up on a farm and in his father’s garage. He enlisted in the Navy in 1952 and medically discharged in 1953. He began his career in law enforcement in the Beaverton Police Department as a motorcycle cop. He moved to Salem in 1964 and rose to the rank of Sergeant, Lieutenant and finally Captain in the Marion County Sheriff’s Office retiring in 1979 to move to Lathrup Wells, NV where he and his wife, Maggie, operated a restaurant, bar and RV park. They left there after a couple of years moving back to Keizer. They spent the next 30+ years traveling in their motorhome. Del was an active member of the Elks and Courthouse Fitness. He love to travel, ride his motorcycle or repair and restore cars and trucks.
Del is survived by his wife of 67 years, Maggie; his 2 daughters: Connie and Lisa; 4 grandchildren (Christina, Nathan, Tasha and Trevor) and 2 great grandchildren (Noah and Emma). Private interment at Valley Memorial Gardens, Hillsboro, OR.
