Clifford Arthur Holmes

Clifford A. Holmes, 80, passed away at home peacefully with family at his side on January 28, 2016. He was born on January 5, 1936 in Portland, Oregon to Alfred and Gertrude Holmes. He graduated from Franklin High in Portland and attended Portland State. He served in the Air National Guard and was a member of the Lents Masonic Lodge in Portland.
Cliff loved golf and was a member of Salem Golf Club for many years. Golf and football were his main passions. The Foundry industry was a big part of his life and he had the opportunity to work side by side with his father. He spent the last 35 years in Salem and retired from Hanard Machine in 2005.
Clifford is survived by his wife Gay, brother Gary (Rosie) Holmes from Texas, sister-in-law Joella of Salem, Children Lynda (Tim) and Vicki (Larry) both of Portland, Debra and Curtis (Lynn) both of Salem, Seven grandchildren (Jamie, Claire, Matt, Neka, Alicia, Ian, Nicole) and four great grandchildren (Silas, Eden, Olive, and Moses).
Services will be held at Keizer Funeral Chapel, 4365 River Rd N., Keizer, OR, on February 6th at 11am, Followed by a celebration of his life at McNary Golf course in Keizer around 1pm.
