Charles Francis Geis

October 22, 1942 — December 14, 2021

Charles was born in Webster, South Dakota. He was the son of Lawrence and Anna (Theuer) Geis. Charles was Baptized and Confirmed at Christ the King Catholic Church in Webster. He graduated from Webster High School in 1960. Upon graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy at age 17 and proudly served on the USS Muliphen until he was Honorably Discharged in 1963. While in the Navy, Charles traveled extensively in countries throughout the Mediterranean. He served on the USS Muliphen as part of the blockade in wartime steaming during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Charles graduated from Northern State in Aberdeen, South Dakota with a B.S. in Elementary Education in 1966. He married Leanne (Staudenraus) on July 9, 1966. Charles and Leanne moved to Roseburg, Oregon in August 1966 where they both had accepted teaching positions. Charles earned his M.S. in Education at Southern Oregon and an Administrators License from the University of Oregon. The family moved to Springfield and later Elgin where Charles served as Principal. In 1983 the family moved to St. Paul, Oregon where Charles served as Superintendent of St. Paul High School from 1983-2000. He served as Principal at St. Paul Parochial School from 2002-2010. Charles and Leanne moved to Keizer in 2000. Charles and Leanne loved spending time with their children; Lori (Paul), Liz (John) and Angela (Andy), and seven grandchildren; David, Eva, Daniel, Rachel, Rose, Sarah and Michael. They enjoyed attending their grandchildren’s sporting events and musical recitals. They loved family get-togethers and celebrating birthdays and holidays. Charles loved to take road trips and especially enjoyed Yosemite. Charles and Leanne were Duck football season ticketholders and they enjoyed watching college football and basketball. They were active at St. Paul Parish and served as Chairmen for the Chicken Barbeque Stand at the St. Paul Rodeo for several years. Charles told the best stories. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He will be lovingly remembered and missed
