Billie Joe Jones

Billie Joe Jones (BJ) April 15, 1935 - June 14, 2010 IDANHA, Ore. - Billie (BJ) passed away June 14, 2010 in Idanha, Oregon. He was born April 15, 1935 in Lamar, Nebraska to William and Hazel Jones, both preceding him in death. He and family moved to Salem in 1943 from California. He joined the U.S. Marines at age 17 and was stationed in San Diego. He retired from the City of Salem after 35 years with the Public Works Dept. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to spend time hunting with nephews, Steve and Rod Satter. He also loved exploring the Cascade Mountains. He enjoyed archery, gold panning, target shooting, horseback riding and restoring old saddles. He is survived by his son, Larry W. Jones (Colette); two grandchildren, Kerry and Kevin Jones of Omaha, Nebraska; sisters, Rhea Fry (Herb) of Keizer and Reva Volk of Salem.
