Bettye N. Mccaffrey

Bettye Noralea McCaffrey April 2, 1929 - September 1, 2007 SALEM - Bettye went to be with daddy and Mike in Heaven on Saturday, September 1, 2007, after suffering a second stroke. She was born April 2, 1929 in Santa Barbara, California, to Frank and Aleisa Mount. As a girl, she sang with the USO. She married Patrick McCaffrey on October 26, 1947, and they lived in Southern California, until moving to Oregon in 1971. She worked many years for Sears, the United Way, and retired from PUC in 1994, but kept going back to work till 2003. She loved life, was a sweet, wonderful and talented mom, sister and grandma, and loved spoiling her grandchildren, who were the joys of her life. She is survived by her sister, Frances Lucke; her daughter, Patty Chavez Bob; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a neice; a nephew; and many friends. A Memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. September 13 at Keizer Funeral Chapel.
