Betty C. Scharback

March 17, 1925 — July 31, 2015

Betty Cecilia Scharback passed away on July 31st, 2015, at the Woodlands Regency Assisted Care facility in Salem, Oregon. Finally she is at peace and in a far better place. She was born in Mt Angel Oregon, on March 17th, 1925, one of nine children. She moved to Salem in 1940, where she began working in the food service industry. She met Richard (Bud) Scharback and they were married in February of 1948. There were many happy years for Bud & Betty, (58 years together), and now together again. Betty was a stay at home mom for a good share of her early adult life, taking care of her 2 children. After the kids graduated from high school, she decided to go back to work. She worked at Mc Nary High School for a number of years in food service. She retired from there, in 1985, to take care of Bud, after he had a series of health related issues. She was a parish member of St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, in Salem, for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard (Bud) Scharback, her parents and 5 sisters and 3 brothers. She is survived by her daughter Karen (Ken) Hannegan, son Ron (Teri) Scharback, grandson Justin (Urva) Hannegan, granddaughter Kelsey Hannegan, great grandson Marcus Hannegan, and many nieces and nephews.
Our thanks go out to Woodlands Regency Assisted Care, for their help and care of Mom over the last 2 years.
Also thank you to Hospice Care of the Northwest for their care of Betty over the last couple of months.
Arrangements are being handled by Keizer Funeral Chapel.
