SALEM -Barbara was born in Vancouver, Canada and lived most of her 70 years in Oregon and California. She was preceded in death by her parents Sydney P. Curtis and Azalia Freda Curtis.
Barbara spent several of her early years as a resident at Fairview Training Center in Salem. After leaving that facility she lived at home with her mother and father in Southern Oregon and California. She returned to the Salem area later in her life and upon the death of her mother, lived in several adult foster homes in the area. For the past 10 years her care providers have been Dale and Andy Barros of Salem. Their loving care was a true blessing for Barbara and our family wishes to express our deepest appreciation to them for their wonderful care and kindness throughout the years. Barbara attended the Rockwest Training Co., most of her mornings. She greatly enjoyed her many friends at the facility and looked forward to visiting with them each morning. We thank them for brightening her days.
She is survived by four half-sisters. Jean Marshall, Venetia Fisher, Leona Charlton all living in B.C. Canada, and Thelma Corley residing in Salem. She has many nieces and nephews in Canada and the USA.
Arrangements have been made by Keizer Funeral Chapel. Her ashes will be placed in a niche at Los Gatos Memorial Park in California next to those of her beloved mother and father.
