Gene Allen Shriner

Gene Allen Shriner, 48, of Salem died October 20. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska on October 30, 1964. Gene grew up in Ft. Collins, Colorado and graduated from Rocky Mountain High School in 1982. Gene was an active member of the Salem Brain Injury Support Group. He enjoyed helping people and had a special knack for showing kindness toward everyone. Gene had a passion for watching sports, and was known to rally the family for Bronco game days. Survivors include his parents Eldon Gene and Bertha Shriner, sister Terrie Hessel, her children Erin Lynn and Todd, and fiance Sharon Irwin and her children Diana and Lynette Towsley. There will be a viewing on Friday at 11:00 am with a funeral service to follow at 1 pm at Holy Cross. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Child Savings Institute or Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Salem. Arrangements in care of Keizer Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services.
